Express News for the Droid smartphone is a News application that taps into over 300 sources worldwide and brings you fast and comprehensive updates from anywhere in the world. A perfect app for News junkies and the casual News follower alike, this Droid application has an excellent and simple interface. Formatting is tight and perfect for the Droid’s screen – photos and text wrap snugly around so that you spend more time reading and less time scrolling.
Each News item comes with an associated thumbnail. Unfortunately this Droid app doesn’t support offline access – you’ll need either a Wi-Fi or cellular data connection to make this work. That’s the only real drawback to this app. The interface, formatting, and choice in News sources is exceptional. There are some missing features that select users may find useful, such as the ability to share articles to Facebook, but the simplicity and lack of clutter in the current version is well worth the download.
