TED on the Droid
The famous series of TED talks, well known for their cutting-edge topics and innovative speakers, are now available on the Droid. This is one of the Droid apps that you’ll never get bored with. It has constantly refreshing topics under both video and audio sections. All the archived TED talks are available plus some bonus content. This Droid apps presents a simple interface that lets you see the latest available talks and mark select ones as favorites.
Tapping on a specific TED talk will show a more detailed description that includes the size of the video file (some of which can be pretty big). It is best to use the app when you have plenty of battery left on your Droid smartphone. There’s no way to store video or audio in offline mode to view or listen to the files on the subway or when you otherwise don’t have a connection. The streaming quality is very good, with excellent buffering. Overall, this is a great Droid app that should keep you engaged for a long time.
