NASAImages
NASAImages is a front-end to NASA’s “Astronomy Picture of the Day” website and offers over 4000 images in an archive of beautiful full color images from the Hubble telescope and other instruments. The images appear fantastic on your Droid’s screen. Each image also comes with a brief description that makes this app educational as well as entertaining. You can hide the description to see the image in all it’s glory in almost full screen.
You can find a fresh image everyday. Browsing images is very easy, simply tap the “Next” and “Prev” buttons. The app is a little on the slow side and can take a while to bring up the images – you shouldn’t expect to breeze along uninterrupted. A method to share images or a link to an image would have been ideal, but there are no other features on this Droid app. It’s a pretty unique app, however, and if you’re into astronomy or are simply interested in our universe, this is the app to have.
