. Glympse is an interesting Droid app that lets you safely and securely share your location information with friends and family. The best thing about these notifications is that you can have them self-destruct after a period of time, say 5 minutes. And the recipients will no longer be able to query your location after that period. The people you send it to don’t have to have Glympse installed, and you can send these notifications by email, text message, Twitter or Facebook. Very useful for a variety of situations.
Sending these “glympses” are easy to do and you can also tack-on a message to them and share a destination as well – so a glympse can be a complete message to help you get together with other people. You can see location information on a nice map and browse the history of messages that you’ve sent out. With such a focussed app, the interface is quite straightforward and well-designed. Overall, this is an innovative Android app that will change the way you get together with friends and family.
